This special nine night tour begins on Friday and focuses on Jewish Heritage sites. The tour includes visits to Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Haifa, Acre, the mystical city of Safed, the Golan Heights, Tiberias, the Old and New cities of Jerusalem, including the Western Wall and the tunnels, the ultra-orthodox Mea Shearim neighborhood, Yad Vashem and the Holocaust Memorial, the Dead Sea, Masada and more.

DAY 1 (FRIDAY): BEN GURION AIRPORT / TEL AVIV

Meet and greet at Ben Gurion Airport by our representative and  transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv.

DAY 3 : (SUNDAY):

CAESAREA / HAIFA / ACRE / ROSH HANIKRA

This morning we will drive up the Mediterranean Sea to the ancient city of Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders’ city, the aqueduct and the amphitheatre which has been restored as a concert venue. Followed by a visit to the city of  Haifa for a panoramic view from Mt. Carmel and visit “AF AL PI CHEN”, the naval museum of the illegal immigration to Israel at the time of the British mandate. Drive to Acre; walk along the old harbour and local market; Continue to the northernmost point of Israel at Rosh Hanikra. Descend by cable into the limestone Grottoes.

DAY 4 : (MONDAY): SAFED / GOLAN HEIGHTS / UPPER GALILEE

This morning we will start our day with a visit to Safed, the center of mysticism and Kaballah. We will visit the Joseph Caro and the Ha’ ari synagogues, the most significant synagogues in Safed. Take time to wander around the Artists’ Quarter. We will leave Safed by 4×4 vehicles and experience a Jeep tour to the foot of the Golan Heights. We will proceed upwards to the Golan Heights and see an overview of the town of Kuneitra and the Syrian territory from the observation point. Onwards to Tel Facher, a former Syrian army camp. The next stop of our tour is the Banias Springs and then we will continue to Tel-Hai with its “Roaring Lion” Monument and discover about the valiant fight of Josef Trumpeldor and his compatriots in 1920. We will get together with a member of the Kibbutz and gain knowledge of their distinctive way of life.

DAY 5 (TUESDAY): BEIT SHEAN / BEIT ALPHA / GAN HASHLOSHA

This morning we will drive to Tiberias to visit Rambam’s grave. We will continue to the ancient site of Beit Shean, also called “Scythopolis”, the biggest archeological park in Israel with incredible excavations from both the Roman and Byzantine periods. You will continue to Beit Alpha and appreciate the beauty of the mosaic floor of a synagogue from the Byzantine period. Followed by a refreshing visit to Gan Hashlosha, (Sachne) where you will have an opportunity to enjoy swimming in the springs located at the foots of the Gilboa mountain. The location where King Saul was killed in the battle against the Philistines. We will drive through the Jordan valley en route to Jerusalem; Stop at Mount Scopus for a blessing as you enter the city.

DAY 6 (WEDNESDAY): JERUSALEM (THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM)

This morning we will spend the day in the  Old City of Jerusalem starting at the Tomb of King David on Mount Zion. Wander along the Cardo, the ancient Roman street and visit the four Sepharadic synagogues reinstated after the Six Day War in 1967 in the Jewish Quarter. We will take a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels (Kotel Tunnels) and the Davidson Center. Stroll through the alleyways of the Arab Souk (market), and via the Jaffa Gate to the David Citadel Museum and see the ancient ruins Jerusalem from the time of the First Temple and onwards.

DAY 7 (THURSDAY): JERUSALEM NEW CITY

This morning we will begin at the Western Wall (Kotel) and enjoy seeing the Bar-Mitzvah celebration ceremonies. Mazal Tov! We will continue to Mea Shearim and discover about the distinctive way of life of the ultra orthodox communities.

Followed by a visit to the Mount Herzl military cemetery and Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial . Our last stop will be at Ammunition Hill,  which was the former Jordanian army trenches, taken by the Israeli Army in the Six Day War and transformed into a national memorial and museum.

Drive by Israel’s Parliament – the Knesset – and see the huge Menorah with the biblical symbols. Our last stop will be at the Israel Museum with a visit to the Shrine of the Book where the amazing Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited as well as the Holyland model of 2nd Temple period Jerusalem.

DAY 8 (FRIDAY): QUMRAN / MASSADA / DEAD SEA

This morning, we will travel to the region of the Dead Sea via the Judean desert. We will visit Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will continue to the ancient fortress of  Massada ascending upwards by cable car to tour the ancient fortifications including ruins of the walls, palaces, synagogue, the bathhouses etc. Back down again by cable car. We will stop for lunch and Spa facilities in one of the top hotels in the Dead Sea area. We will continue back to Jerusalem.

DAY 9 (SATURDAY): AT LEISURE

Day of leisure at Jerusalem.

DAY 10 (SUNDAY): JERUSALEM / BEN GURION AIRPORT

Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure..
