DAY 1 : (SUNDAY): DIASPORA MUSEUM / CAESAREA / DRUZE VILLAGES
We will begin our journey with a visit to the Jewish People Museum, located on the University of Tel Aviv campus. We will continue up the Mediterranean coast to the ancient city of Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. You will have the opportunity to see the excavations of the Crusader city and the Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheater which has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue. Continue via the Druze villages to Haifa.
Overnight : Haifa
DAY 2 : (MONDAY): SAFED / BANIAS / TEL-HAI
This morning we will start with a visit the mystical city of Safed, the center of the Kaballah movement; Visit the JOSEPH CARO and the HA’ ARI synagogues, the most important synagogues in the city; stroll around the the Artist’s quarter. Enjoy an exciting jeep tour to the foots of the Golan. Continue to the Golan heights and visit Mount Bental at an observation point over Northern Israel as well as the city of Kuneitra, and Syrian territory. You will stop at Tel Facher, a former Syrian army camp. Visit the Banias springs. Next, a visit to Tel-Hai; See the “Roaring Lion” monument and learn about the heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920.
Overnight: Tiberias or Kibbutz Guest House
DAY 3 : (TUESDAY): SEA OF GALILEE / NAZARETH
On our final day, we will visit the city of Tiberias. Start the day with a visit of Tiberias. We will continue to Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal church of St. Peter. In Nazareth, we will visit the church of the Annunciation. Finally we will drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac.
